Riaan the Recruiter

by Admin March 30, 2012 14:11

Hello, my name is Riaan and I am a Recruiter here at Incepture. I recently received an invitation to join the Incepture Blog team. I am proud of this membership, which I predict will last until my first Blog is published. I look forward to sharing some helpful information on the entire process of finding your dream job, and believe me, dream jobs do exist and are within everyone’s reach.

I’m originally from South Africa and I have lived in the United States since 1999. Since then I have been involved with all different types of work like Project Management and Operations Management, but recruiting is my passion. I’ve been in recruiting for 8 years now and I love what I do. I wouldn’t say it’s my dream job but it comes pretty close. My dream job would be anything where I would be paid astronomical amounts of money for doing almost nothing! Since those positions are all taken my next best choice is recruiting and I do it because I love helping people especially through the stressful process of finding employment.

Over the next few weeks I will be blogging about basic and creative strategies to incorporate in to your search for that dream job. Together we will walk through successful interviewing, job searching and how to make you more visible to prospective employers by using the Internet and social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. (There are more but these are the most popular in my opinion)

You can connect with me on LinkedIn at http://www.linkedin.com/in/riaanvanrensburg and follow me on Twitter at @_riaan. You can also use these links to reach out, connect and provide feedback to share your own experiences with me and all of us here at Incepture.

"The Sourceress"

by Admin March 30, 2012 13:50

...Or otherwise known as a Sourcing Specialist, I’ll be covering a series of blogs that include:

-      How to Build Relationships/Network

-      How to stay happy and productive at work

-      Benefits of working with a recruiter

My goal will be to educate, create awareness and have fun in the process of course!

So a little about this “Sourceress;” originally from Nice, France, I’ve had the privilege to live in and experience different cities such as Santa-Monica, CA, Orlando, FL and sunny Jacksonville, Florida, where I now call home. I am extremely grateful and thankful to have  my immediate family close by and blessed for my two amazing children. Picture of Virginie

I am a Jacksonville University alumna where I received a Bachelor of Business Administration in both marketing and management majors and my MBA with a concentration in management. My favorite topics were responsible leadership, teamwork and organizational change so accepting this job was in perfect alignment with what I wanted at the time. My forte is developing solutions that will achieve set goals.

My professional background is diversified with industries in hospitality and tourism, property management, health and wellness, staffing and recruiting and entrepreneurism. I have mentored business professionals, teens and individuals in crisis. I am a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a business co-ed fraternity and sit on the Board of Directors for Divine Restoration, Inc. I also support and am involved with First Coast DeMolay and North East Girls on the Run.

There you have it, a little snippet of who I am as I kick off the Source Report Series!

Blogging About Blogging

by Admin March 28, 2012 14:31

Hello, my name is Matt and I work here at Incepture. I am a retired Navy guy who has had multiple varied careers since leaving active duty. After all my changes, there is certain poetry about me working at a staffing company.

 Picture of Matt T

Recently I received an invitation to join the newly forming Incepture Blog Team. Although I have always considered myself a “tech savvy guy,” I had a Facebook account that I never looked at, a LinkedIn account that I didn’t use and a Twitter account that I couldn’t remember the password for, I wasn’t really prepared for blogging to be the next logical step!

To be fair, since August I have started to actively use Facebook (sort of), and have greatly increased my reach on LinkedIn. And although I did reset my password on Twitter, I would be lying if I said I understood it. It’s kind of like Lacrosse, I understand the ball in the net part, but the rest of it is still a little fuzzy. Twitter is still a little fuzzy. So now it is on to Blogging! .......... I think I have “it.”

Having never done this before, (I was supposed to blog at a previous job, but never did. They have since gone out of business, but I don’t think that was related to my Blog-less performance!) I started to do a little research. I learned about the history of blogs, and how you should avoid the Trolls and other things. I was particularly interested in “Micro Blogs” but ultra-short messages probably wouldn’t get past the team! Besides, isn’t that what Twitter is? I’m still confused………….

Once you get to that place in your mind that explains to you that a blog is where you get to talk about anything you want, then it starts to get kind of exciting. I can write about just about anything I feel will inform you and promote what we are trying to do here at Incepture. Hopefully you, the reader, will find what I have to say informative and enjoyable, if not…..we always have those social media vehicles mentioned earlier to let me know. If I don’t answer your “twitters” err…..I guess I mean “tweets”, forgive me, it’s that fuzziness coming through.

In the coming weeks I will be blogging about a variety of topics ranging from career changes to veterans’ employment to the use and benefits of vendor management systems. I may include keen insights into teenage daughters, disobedient dogs, duffer golf, and the occasional cigar store or barbershop story. You’ll have to keep coming back to see what’s next. I can promise you one thing….EVERYTHING that I blog about will be of interest to at least me. It’s like I used to say, ”if you try to make everyone happy then no one is happy, so do what you want to, then at least one person is happy!”
