Hello, my name is Matt and I work here at Incepture. I am a retired Navy guy who has had multiple varied careers since leaving active duty. After all my changes, there is certain poetry about me working at a staffing company.

Recently I received an invitation to join the newly forming Incepture Blog Team. Although I have always considered myself a “tech savvy guy,” I had a Facebook account that I never looked at, a LinkedIn account that I didn’t use and a Twitter account that I couldn’t remember the password for, I wasn’t really prepared for blogging to be the next logical step!
To be fair, since August I have started to actively use Facebook (sort of), and have greatly increased my reach on LinkedIn. And although I did reset my password on Twitter, I would be lying if I said I understood it. It’s kind of like Lacrosse, I understand the ball in the net part, but the rest of it is still a little fuzzy. Twitter is still a little fuzzy. So now it is on to Blogging! .......... I think I have “it.”
Having never done this before, (I was supposed to blog at a previous job, but never did. They have since gone out of business, but I don’t think that was related to my Blog-less performance!) I started to do a little research. I learned about the history of blogs, and how you should avoid the Trolls and other things. I was particularly interested in “Micro Blogs” but ultra-short messages probably wouldn’t get past the team! Besides, isn’t that what Twitter is? I’m still confused………….
Once you get to that place in your mind that explains to you that a blog is where you get to talk about anything you want, then it starts to get kind of exciting. I can write about just about anything I feel will inform you and promote what we are trying to do here at Incepture. Hopefully you, the reader, will find what I have to say informative and enjoyable, if not…..we always have those social media vehicles mentioned earlier to let me know. If I don’t answer your “twitters” err…..I guess I mean “tweets”, forgive me, it’s that fuzziness coming through.
In the coming weeks I will be blogging about a variety of topics ranging from career changes to veterans’ employment to the use and benefits of vendor management systems. I may include keen insights into teenage daughters, disobedient dogs, duffer golf, and the occasional cigar store or barbershop story. You’ll have to keep coming back to see what’s next. I can promise you one thing….EVERYTHING that I blog about will be of interest to at least me. It’s like I used to say, ”if you try to make everyone happy then no one is happy, so do what you want to, then at least one person is happy!”
