We made it – the move to our beautiful, new offices went super smoothly.  Thanks to all of the hardworking Incepture and external people who helped to plan, cajole, lift, assuage, rectify, execute, encourage and perform many other active verbs that are associated with a move of this magnitude.   In the process of the transition, I began to reflect on the changes and growth we go through in our lives.  Everyone has different goals, environments, and challenges at different times in their lives.  What may be your number one priority at one point may not be later.  I know I no longer think being a major league third baseman is in my future, so I don’t take three hours out of my day to hone my hitting and fielding skills. 

Excelling in a time of change is a result of planning, evaluating, acting and embracing the change.  As a famous science fiction character once said, “resistance is futile.”    It is not only futile, it is counterproductive and derails you on your way to achieving your goals.  If you fight the changes you encounter, you are postponing opportunities to learn and grow.  All changes are not the same.  Some may feel exciting right from the start and they are easy to dive right into.  Other times, we feel torn because we may have to move away from the well-known and comfortable.  One of my favorite quotes about change is “even if you stumble, you’re still moving forward.”  No change is completely seamless and without challenges and setbacks.  Some are bigger than others, but keep moving forward.

At Incepture, change is a huge part of our business.  Every day brings new opportunities to thrive in the many different facets of our business.  Priorities shift, projects get re-evaluated, budgets get revised, and we have the energy, the ability, and the people to respond and excel in the face of these changes.  We continually plant new seeds to help us on road to success – new staff, new clients, new markets, and new ideas.  We have the environment to allow our efforts to germinate and flourish.  We nurture our efforts to create and embrace change. Our team is poised for great things on our ever-evolving path.    

                As Wayne Gretzky said, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”  Take your shot, give it your best effort and move forward into your future with the knowledge that great things are ahead!
