As a life-coach I have the opportunity to guide individuals through their journey of attaining what they want to achieve and be a part of their achievement. The individuals that are successful in seeing their goals through the end are the ones that are open to accept change within them and not using any excuses through-out the process.
So why do we have a habit of using excuses? Simply because it is easier to blame circumstances or others for our behavior; examples are “I’m too old, too bored, it’s not my fault” and the list goes on and on…
Coming face-to-face with “self” stirs an uneasiness that often is subconsciously associated with the famous phrase “something is wrong with me”. On the contrary, this uneasiness is normal and is part of evolving into the person we need to become to be in alignment with what we want to achieve. Fighting the awareness will only delay the process and if we never let go life passes us by. Excuses hold us back and limit our true potentials.
Suggestions to overcome:
- Know your passion and follow it
- Always be positive
- Accept that you create and attract everything in your life
- Do a self-inventory
- Take responsibility
- Understand that there are never problems but always solutions
Benjamin Franklin once quoted the definition of insanity as follows: "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."
Remember this quote next time you face a situation or an excuse. Take a step back, evaluate yourself and think of situations you are attracting over and over again. Chances are there is a lesson to be taught for your own benefit; there are no mistakes just lessons!
Until next time....Virginie
